UPDATE 7/19 2 P.M. – The DMV will remain closed through Friday. Normal hours are expected to return at the DMV and DSS on Monday, July 22. The Tompkins County Department of Emergency Response reports that the 911 Center is fully operational.
ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – Some Tompkins County services and buildings are affected by the Crowdstrike outage.
A bug in the cyber-security system is causing issues with Microsoft systems worldwide. Locally, the Tompkins County Department of Motor Vehicles is closed to the public until further notice. County officials say updates will be posted to the department’s Facebook page and county website.
The Department of Social Services is meeting with clients in the lobby of its downtown Ithaca office but cannot process online applications or paperwork. Appointments can be made via the DSS website or by calling (607)274-5680.
In Ithaca, many city departments cannot complete electronic payments or processes including the City Clerk, Chamberlain’s Office, and the Building Division. Cass Park, GIAC, and Ithaca Youth Bureau programs are unaffected, but Community Pass is unavailable for transactions. City Hall remains open.
County officials say they’ll share information as the situation changes.
