ALBANY, NY (CortacaToday) — New York is seeing a decline in crime.

Data from the State Division of Criminal Justice Services shows crime has fallen six percent year-over-year.

Governor Hochul calls public safety her top priority.

“Our approach is working, as murders, shootings, violent crime and property crime have declined statewide,” Hochul said. “But make no mistake: our work is not over, and I’ll continue working to ensure our state is safer for all.”

Hochul has invested millions of dollars to help reduce gun violence.
