CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) — Registration is underway for a festive event in the Crown City.

The Cortland YMCA is putting on a pumpkin run. Senior Program Director Gina Cusano-McLaughlin said the event will be paired with the Cortland Pumpkin Festival.

“Each running participant will pick out a pumpkin to carry through the one-mile run,” she said. “At the end of the run, they do get to keep the pumpkin and take it home with them.”

The race happens Saturday, Oct. 5. The starting line will be near Courthouse Park.
