CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — Cortland County is considering clawing back over $100,000.

The county recently awarded a $140,800 grant to the Cortland Regional Sports Council, but that funding could be rescinded. According to county documents, the council was found noncompliant with guidelines for the tourism marketing grant program.

A pair of resolutions are under consideration that would rescind the money, then retain the funding for future redistribution.

The county’s Finance & Administration Committee will discuss the matter on April 24 at 4:30 p.m. If the committee advances the resolutions, the full legislature will make a final decision later that day.

The council has been contacted for comment.
