CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — A 23-year-old man in Cortland is under arrest.

Police say Donald Sampson followed a woman’s boyfriend into their apartment building on Port Watson Street around midnight Monday with a shotgun. Officers say Sampson walked down the stairs without a weapon, but they later found a loaded 12-gauge shotgun hidden in a hallway reportedly stolen.

Despite denying the allegation, security camera footage showed Sampson carrying a shotgun in the hallway. He’s charged with criminal possession of a stolen weapon and a related misdemeanor.
