CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – Two people are facing charges after alleged stabbings in Cortland.
On the morning of June 23, Cortland Police say Carlos Planas and Kaitlin Duff each stabbed someone at a home on Owego Street. Planas was arrested at the scene, and Duff was taken into custody a short distance away.
The unnamed victims, 27 and 37, were transported to Upstate University Hospital and are currently in stable condition.
Kaitlin Duff, 24, and the 40-year-old Planas, whose 2-year-old child was present during the altercation, are charged with felony assault, felony criminal possession of a weapon, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
During the execution of a weapons search at Planas’ apartment, officers allegedly found cash and cocaine. Planas was additionally charged with felony drug possession.
The pair was arraigned and taken to Cortland County Jail with bail set at an undisclosed amount. They are scheduled to appear in Cortland City Court on July 16.
