CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cortland man awaits sentencing for two felonies and a misdemeanor.

The Cortland Voice reports 41-year-old Christopher Gillette pled guilty to criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, and obstruction of governmental administration late last month.

The charges stem from a November 2023 incident when Gillette held two people against their will, one of whom had an order of protection against him. That led to a two-hour standoff with police and Gillette threatening to harm himself with a knife before being taken into custody.

Gillette is being held on $4,000 cash bail. His sentencing hearing is set for April 24.
