CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cortland resident is receiving recognition.

Glenn Reisweber has been named the Scouting America Baden-Powell Council 2025 Cortland County Distinguished Citizen Award winner. The retired army officer and former Cornell professor of military science is an active Cortlandville Town Board member and a trustee at the Cortland Free Library and previously served as executive director of the Lime Hollow Nature Center for 15 years.

“Glenn embodies the spirit of leadership and service that the Distinguished Citizen Award presents,” said 2023 honoree Molly Reagan. “His dedication to youth development, environmental stewardship, and civic engagement has left a lasting impact on Cortland County.”

Reisweber mentors Eagle Scouts at Lime Hollow and is an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 79 in Homer. He’ll receive the honor at a reception dinner next month.
