ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Cornell is sharing an update about Middle East operations.
President Michael Kotlikoff says despite missile attacks by Iran on a US military base in Qatar, everyone at the Weill Cornell Medicine campus in the country is safe and the campus was not damaged. According to CBS News, there were no injuries at the Al Udeid Air Base near Doha, the capital of Qatar.
“Our campus in Doha is a world-class international medical school, and we are deeply proud of all the work accomplished there to transform patient care, biomedical research, and the quality of life in the region and around the world. Our hearts are with the many talented WCM-Q faculty, staff, and students during this uncertain time,” Kotlikoff said.
Operations will re-open today, June 25, after a temporary closure following the strike. Iran’s missile attack on Tuesday came in response to rising tensions between the US, Iran, and Israel.
