ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — CJ Kirst has another reason to smile.
After winning a national championship with Cornell on May 26, the Big Red goal scorer has received the Tewaaraton Award. The award recognizes the top player in college lacrosse.
Kirst is the third Cornell athlete to receive the Tewaaraton. Max Seibald won it in 2009, and Rob Pannell won it in 2013.

Kirst tallied 82 goals this year, which tied the NCAA Division I single-season record. He was also named Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Lacrosse Championships.
