ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Cornell is looking for help with the worker shortage.

In the wake of the UAW strike, the school has asked retirees if they’d be willing to return to work for a temporary paid assignment.

In a letter to retired faculty and staff, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Christine Lovely says Cornell is in ‘unprecedented territory.’

Around 1200 UAW members went on strike late Sunday night after failed negotiations for a new employment contract.
