A former Big Red hockey player is celebrating a Stanley Cup victory. Cornell alum Braden Birch currently serves as director of hockey operations and salary cap management for the NHL’s Florida Panthers. On Tuesday, Florida won the championship for the second straight year.

A former player for the Jets is retiring. CJ Mosley is hanging up the cleats. The linebacker played 10 seasons in the NFL, including five with the Jets. New York released Mosley in March.

The Yankees are back in the win column. The pinstripes beat the Angels 7-3 on Thursday. The victory snapped New York’s six-game skid. The Yanks are back on the field tonight against the Orioles at 7:05 p.m.
