CORNING, NY (607NewsNow) — A Corning man will spend over three decades in prison.

According to the US Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York says Ryan Newman was sentenced Wednesday to 35 years in federal lockup after pleading guilty in February to making child sex abuse materials. Prosecutors say Newman, who’s 34, uploaded a child sex video to Snapchat in 2021. A search the following year uncovered more material on other devices.

Newman was arrested in April 2024 by the FBI. He previously served time in prison on similar charges in 2012 and is a registered sex offender. Once out of federal custody, Newman will also serve 15 years of supervised release.
