SYRACUSE, NY (607NewsNow) — The Syracuse Mets outscored the visiting Buffalo Bisons on June 4, though baseball was not the main attraction.
After the game, competitive eater Joey Chestnut dominated a boneless chicken wing eating contest. He chowed down 79 wings in about five minutes.
Chestnut’s competition was three local fans; the fans ate 67 wings combined.

At one point during the contest, Chestnut accidentally dropped a wing on the grass. He picked it up and ate it, to the crowd’s amusement.
Chestnut, nicknamed Jaws, has won the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest 16 times. The event is held annually on July 4 in Brooklyn.
