ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — It’s not PPP, it’s CCC! During the Covid-19 pandemic, the U.S. Small Business Administration helped companies with a program called the “Payroll Protection Plan.” These were forgivable loans designed to help businesses get through a challenging period where both commerce and employment came to a screeching halt.

In the summer of 2024, many downtown Cortland businesses have experienced similar challenges in their normal business operation due to the construction on Main Street, West Court Street, Tompkins Street, and Groton Avenue. As parking and traffic patterns have been disrupted, the impact on many local businesses has been significant.

The Cayuga Media Group has released their version of the PPP called “CCC”, or the Cortland Construction Coupon. Any and all affected businesses in downtown Cortland can access their choice of a free $500 advertising campaign on a Cayuga Media Group radio station or receive a “matching” schedule for up to $3,000 spent on advertising. All campaigns include a custom schedule and free commercial ad production.

“It’s vital to keep local businesses healthy and vibrant. The construction in downtown Cortland will ultimately yield greater commerce for businesses as well as a better consumer experience, but in the short term, it’s a difficult time for both businesses and customers to navigate,” said Cayuga Media Group President Chet Osadchey. “We want to continue to be high quality partners to our community, and we know these businesses both want and need the additional support. The more businesses that participate, the more traffic we continue to drive to these retailers.”

This program is available now and has been extended to run through September 30, 2024. The coupon is not good for previously purchased advertising balances.
