ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office says a vehicle allegedly stolen in Monroe County ended up in Ithaca.
Sheriff Derek Osborne says deputies received a Flock Safety alert about a Chevrolet Silverado issued by the Rochester Police Department on Tuesday evening. 21-year-old Clayton Stone is accused of trying to flee when confronted by officers on Elmira Road in Ithaca but was blocked by other vehicles. Stone allegedly tried fleeing of foot but was quickly arrested. The Rochester man is charged with the following:
- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree (Class E Felony)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)
- Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)
In addition, Osborne says Stone was wanted on an active felony warrant issued by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office “and pending charges from the Rochester Police Department related to his alleged involvement in the stabbing of two victims” earlier in the day on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
