WATKINS GLEN, NY (607NewsNow) – The Watkins Glen School District will soon learn if its capital improvement project will move forward as planned.

Residents will head to the polls next week to cast ballots on the proposed $35.8 million project, which has campus-wide renovations and enhancements, including athletic facilities.

According to FingerLakes1.com, the project requires a 4.08% tax hike that would be supplemented with state aid and reserve funds. School officials reportedly stated the proposal would be “scaled back” if rejected.

The vote is set for Tuesday, December 17, 2024, with an alternate date of December 18 in the case of inclement weather.
