BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) — A Binghamton man has died behind bars.
The Broome County Sheriff’s Office says William Warnock, Jr. was found unresponsive in his cell around 6 a.m Monday, Dec. 8. Officers were delivering a shaving razor the 54-year-old asked for on Sunday.
Despite CPR and other life-saving attempts, Warnock was pronounced dead within minutes. Warnock had been in the Broome County jail on robbery charges since July. An autopsy is being performed today, Dec. 9.
