OWEGO, NY (607NewsNow) — An Ithaca man has been sentenced in a Tioga County murder.

The Morning Times reports Angelo Baez will serve 25 years to life in prison for the 2023 abduction and murder of Thomas Rath in Ithaca. Rath’s body was later found in Candor.

Baez, who’s 48, was convicted of first and second degree murder in December. In February, Joseph Howell, who lives in Newfield, was sentenced to serve at least 31 years in prison for the role he played in Rath’s death.

A third trial in the case begins in May.
