OVID, NY (607NewsNow) – A Seneca County man has died.

On March 19, deputies were called to County Road 139 in Ovid around 3 p.m. for a reported motorcycle accident with an injury. Investigators say 23-year-old Ronald Wheeler, of Interlaken, left the roadway and struck a vehicle that was parked in a driveway.

First responders tried life-saving measures, but Wheeler succumbed to his injuries. The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office says their preliminary report suggests that speed and high winds contributed to the crash.
