CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cortland man is charged with multiple crimes after trying to elude police.
On April 3, members from the Cortland County Drug Task Force attempted a traffic stop around 4 p.m. on Clinton Street, but the driver, Michael Rogers, allegedly sped off. The 56-year-old, who authorities say is homeless, eventually parked the vehicle at a residence and was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.
Police say Rogers had approximately seven ounces of meth, a little over an ounce of cocaine, 181 wax envelopes of fentanyl, a digital scale, packaging material, and cash. He faces three counts of felony drug possession, felony tampering with evidence, and 7 misdemeanors.
Rogers was remanded to the Cortland County Jail without bail.
