ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – The fourth year of the Ithaca is Books Festival is underway.

The 4-day event officially kicked off Thursday and features a packed weekend with author readings, panel discussions, a poetry slam, and more, highlighted by a book fair on the Ithaca Commons from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday.

Started by Buffalo Street Books General Manager Lisa Swayze, this year’s festival organizing committee includes leaders from the Tompkins County Public Library Foundation, Odyssey Bookstore, Story House Ithaca, PM Press, and Autumn Leaves Bookstore.

“Ithaca is the ultimate book town,” said Swayze. “This is a chance to celebrate our writers, publishers, and booksellers in the same way that our music festivals celebrate our amazing local musicians.”
