COOPERSTOWN, NY (607NewsNow) — A new class of legends has entered baseball immortality.

Over the weekend, former Yankees Ichiro Suzuki and CC Sabathia were inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Billy Wagner, who pitched multiple seasons for the Mets, was also enshrined.

During his speech, Suzuki joked about joining a new team of Hall of Famers.

“I realize I’m a rookie again,” he said. “But please, I am 51 years old now, so easy on the hazing.”

Sabathia, who pitched for the Yankees from 2009-2019, thanked his mother, grandmother, and aunts during his speech.

“You’d be lucky to have even one of those women in your life, and I’ve had them all,” he said.

About 30,000 people reportedly attended the induction ceremony in Cooperstown.
