CORNING, NY (607NewsNow) — Two Steuben County men face charges in a large drug trafficking probe.

Federal agents seized nearly 500 kilos of cocaine, and US Attorney John Sarcone III announced Monday the arrests of 13 people for their roles in the New York City-based ring. Among the people charged are 38-year-old Michael Harper, of Corning, and 28-year-old Anthony Medina, of Painted Post.

“Using an all-hands-on-deck approach, we have smashed a sophisticated, New York City-based drug trafficking organization that was pumping poison into our Upstate New York communities,” Sarcone said.

All are charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances. “Nearly all of the defendants have been charged with offenses that carry a minimum term of 10 years and up to life in prison,” according to the US Attorney’s office.
