ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Construction continues on Ithaca’s East Hill Fire Station.

The building will be on the corner of Elmwood Ave and Dryden Road. Fire Chief Rob Covert calls the project a “new adventure.”

“We’re very excited about the mission capability it’s going to give us,” he says. “But we’re also learning a lot about all the complications of building on a small, complicated urban lot.”

Construction began in January. Authorities expect the station to be ready in the summer of 2025.
