ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — More winter weather is on the way. 

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Tompkins, Cortland, and Tioga counties starting at six o’clock this evening through eight o’clock Wednesday morning.

Forecasters say as much as 18 inches of snow may fall with wind gusts up to 40 miles an hour. Governor Hochul has issued a State of Emergency for much of New York beginning at 8:00 p.m. tonight.  Officials with TCAT say to check their website frequently for route updates, delays, and cancellations.
