SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Tioga County man will spend more than 12 years behind bars.

On Wednesday, Joseph Swansbrough, 34, of Willseyville, was sentenced in federal court to 150 months of incarceration for attempting to coerce a minor into sexual activity. In a previous guilty plea, Swansbrough admitted to exchanging messages with an undercover officer posing as a 10-year-old and arranging a meet-up in Broome County in October 2021. Swansbrough was additionally sentenced to 25 years of supervision upon his release from prison and will be required to register as a sex offender.
