ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — State Senator Lea Webb is officially running for a second term.

Webb formally announced her run Saturday in Ithaca. Webb, a Democrat who represents the 52nd state Senate district, says she wants to continue prioritizing the needs of working families.

“Our region has been reeling from years of significant underinvestment, and un-doing that underinvestment takes time. Looking ahead at the 2024 Legislative Session, my goal is to build upon 2023’s successes and work even harder to deliver for our community’s working families. I will continue to fight to bring equity to our state and take on the issues that matter, including housing, environmental justice and access to affordable healthcare and good paying jobs.”

Webb was first elected to represent the 52nd state Senate district, which includes Tompkins and Cortland counties and part of Broome County, in 2022.
