WAVERLY, NY (WHCU) – A Waverly man is facing charges after police say they found him “passed out” in someone else’s car.

Waverly PD responded to Broad Street in the Village around 11:15 a.m. on Thursday for a report that an unknown male had entered an unlocked, parked vehicle. Officers say 41-year-old David Gantkowski was still asleep in the back seat when they arrived, and that he was a stranger to the victim.

Gantkowski allegedly had 24 grams of methamphetamine, 10 grams of cocaine, and numerous pills in his possession. He is charged with three counts of felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor.

Gantkowski was arraigned and released. He will appear in court at a later date.
