CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Cortland man is being held in jail without bail until his day in court.
Officers from the Cortland City Police Department pulled a vehicle over on River Street around 1:30 on Thursday afternoon. The stop was conducted to assist the Cortland County Drug Task Force.
Authorities say 46-year-old Jason Schermerhorn, a passenger in the vehicle, had an active warrant for his arrest. The Cortland man allegedly had several different kinds of drugs on him during the traffic stop, including a small amount of cocaine, psilocybin, and more than a quarter pound of molly.
Schermerhorn was arrested for the warrant and additionally charged with felony drug possession and two misdemeanors. He’s due in Cortland City Court at 11 a.m. on Friday.
