ITHACA, NY (WHCU) — All three proposals from the Ithaca City School District have failed.

Voters rejected the $168 million proposed spending plan for the next academic year, plans for additional electric bus purchases and upgrades to the district’s bus garage. The school board votes to certify results from Tuesday’s elections in a special meeting tonight at 6:30.

In addition, the Newfield Central School District’s budget proposal was also rejected. In a vote of 266 to 248, district voters said no Tuesday to a proposed $25.5 million spending plan for the 2024 to 2025 school year. Voters also turned down the proposed purchase of new vehicles, 299 to 218.

Two other propositions were approved. There’s a Board of Education meeting tomorrow night at 6:30.

Budgets for Tompkins County’s four other school districts — Lansing, Trumansburg, Groton, and Dryden — were approved.
