ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A traffic stop in the City of Ithaca has led to drug charges.
Tompkins County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a car on South Meadow Street Saturday afternoon for failure to use a turn signal. One passenger admitted to possessing a small amount of crack and a detection K9 also alerted to drugs in the vehicle.
Deputies say they found an additional 1.2 ounces of crack, scales, and cash. James Brooks, 63, of Rochester, and Samantha Maynard, 38, of Ithaca, were both arrested.
Brooks is charged with felonies of drug possession and drug possession with intent to sell. Maynard is charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance.
