ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Ithaca hopes to receive money for a green cause.
The town is applying for $2,100 from the Tompkins County Municipal Parks and Trails Grant Program. Town Supervisor Rod Howe says the money would help plant trees at the East Ithaca Nature Preserve.
“We had a very successful tree planting event last fall,” he says. “The idea is to do it in the same area, this time focusing on native trees and shrubs.”
Howe adds the grant would cover most of the costs.
