ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Tompkins County could see more deputies on the streets.

Sheriff Derek Osborne says there’s been a “good number” of road patrol applicants.

“We ended up having 56 people take our written exam, and our physical fitness testing for those people is scheduled for November 4th,” he says.

He expects all the vacant road patrol positions will be filled.
