ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Several groups in Tompkins County are closer to getting financial relief.
On Monday, the Health and Human Services Committee approved eight organizations for funding. Legislator Dan Klein says the money comes from lawsuits against the opioid industry.
Finger Lakes Re-Use and the Tompkins County Public Library are among groups listed for funding. Legislator Amanda Champion supports the recommendations.
“It’s great to see money going towards these projects and these organizations,” she says.
The legislature looks to give final approval next month.
