ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Officials in Tompkins County are forming a jail task force.

The group will discuss potential improvements at the jail. Legislator Mike Lane says about eight people will be involved. He wants to move through the steps swiftly.

“We’re hoping to have this thing be about a four-month process,” he says. “We don’t want it to go on forever.”

The task force will include citizens and legislators.
