ULYSSES, N.Y. (WHCU) — Homelessness remains a top focus in Tompkins County.
Legislator Anne Koreman says the problem has grown.
“Through COVID, the rate of homelessness has increased quite a bit,” she says. “What we’re finding out is, people have more complex issues and there’s also less availability for services, because we’re having difficulty at the county keeping our staff levels up.”
The county hired a homeless services coordinator last month to make recommendations.
