ITHACA, NY (WHCU) – Tompkins County Legislator Mike Sigler has picked up another endorsement in his run for state senate.
The Tompkins Corrections Officers Association (TCCOA) is backing Sigler, who is challenging incumbent Lea Webb, a Democrat from Broome County, for a seat in the 52nd State Senate District. The district encompasses most of Broome County and all of Tompkins and Cortland Counties.
“You have dedicated much of your public career to fighting for the safety and security of our community’s families,” said TCCOA President Shawn Hogan. “You have a track record of sound judgment, and you put in the work to learn and understand the needs of every aspect of the communities you represent.”
It’s the latest in a long line of public employee endorsements for Sigler, who has also been endorsed by the Ithaca Police Benevolent Association, the Johnson City Police Benevolent Association, the Tompkins County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 241, and the New York State Union of Police Associations.
The 2024 general election will happen on Tuesday, November 5.
