ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Tompkins County officials might call on the Federal Communications Commission to improve cell phone service.

Legislator Greg Mezey says some spots are underserved.

“We would ask that the FCC do its part to make sure that there’s adequate funding and recourse available, to make sure that we have cell phone coverage in the areas that need it most,” he says.

Mezey adds it would benefit emergency personnel. Legislators will continue talks on Tuesday.
