ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — The proposed center of government in Tompkins County could be bigger than anticipated.
Officials are considering constructing a five-story building. Legislator Greg Mezey says adding a floor would save money in the long run.
“I look at it as an investment up front, to create efficiencies later,” he says.
But Legislator Mike Lane opposes constructing a tall building in a historic district.
The center of government would be on North Tioga Street in Ithaca.
