ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Affidavit ballots are still being counted from last week’s elections, and a write-in candidate has had his own ballot tossed out.

The Ithaca Voice reports the Tompkins County Board of Elections threw Patrick Kuehl’s ballot out because the address he wrote down is outside the Fourth Ward.

Kuehl, who is president of Cornell’s Student Assembly, gained 12 write-in votes last Tuesday while Alderperson Jorge DeFendini, who believed he was running unopposed, had 28 votes. Confirmed results may be reported tomorrow.
