ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Tompkins County is seeing fewer reports of thefts.

In January, dispatchers received 133 calls about the crime. That’s about an 18 percent drop compared to December.

Dispatchers also received fewer calls about burglaries.

In other crime news, a Cortland man is being held in jail without bail.
