ALBANY, N.Y. (WHCU) – SUNY Cortland, TC3, and the rest of schools in the SUNY system will no longer require students, faculty, or staff to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
SUNY Chancellor John B. King Jr. made the announcement on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. The recommendation comes from SUNY’s Public Health Expert Advisory Committee just a day after the Biden administration officially ended the national public health emergency. SUNY will continue to “strongly encourage” vaccinations for its students.
“The safety of SUNY’s students is our first and foremost priority, and while COVID is no longer an emergency, we will not lose sight of the impact it continues to have on us,” said King. “Across SUNY we will continue to monitor cases and make adjustments as needed, but even more importantly, we will look to increase the overall health and wellness support we provide our students.”
