CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Student Government Association at SUNY Cortland is reversing a decision and will allow students to form a chapter of Turning Point USA on campus.

Two students recently filed a lawsuit against the SGA and SUNY Cortland, saying their decision blocking the formation of the conservative group at school was a First Amendment violation.

Mathew Hoffman, legal counsel with the Alliance Defending Freedom, says in a statement the college should revise its “unconstitutional” policy giving the SGA power to approve or deny student groups.
