SPENCER, N.Y. (WHCU) — A dog is recovering after falling through ice. 

The Spencer Police Department says the dog was in the icy water of a neighbor’s pond Saturday for several hours before being located and rescued. Police believe the dog was submerged in the freezing cold water for as much as five hours.
