ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Voters across New York are headed to the polls today.
Every ballot includes two statewide propositions, and some areas have local propositions that require a vote.

In Cortland County, a redistricted map that shrinks the legislature to 15 seats is listed as Proposition Three. Cortlandville voters have a fourth proposition that will determine if the town’s second justice position will be eliminated. And voters in Cincinattus have two additional propositions, both of which ask about changing the terms of town supervisor and town clerk/collector from two years to four. There’s also an extra proposition for Virgil voters.
There’s also an additional proposition on some ballots in Tompkins County. In Danby, voters will decide if the town clerk will stay an elected position or become a job appointed by the town board.
Tioga County has no special propositions this year.
Polls across New York are open today from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
