ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A fourth grade student at South Seneca is dead after a car accident in Seneca County on Friday.
Rescue crews from Ithaca and Trumansburg were called to the scene after authorities say a vehicle crashed into a gorge on Route 89 shortly after 5:30 Friday evening. The South Seneca Central School District has confirmed Ellamae McLaughlin died in the car accident. Grief counselors will be at the school today.
Investigators are still looking into the cause of Friday’s crash, which also injured several people.
