HOMER, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Homer Fire Department is experiencing slower response times.

Chief Jay Riley blames the winter weather.

“We have to brush our cars off and all sorts of stuff like that,” he says. “But we’re still getting people out, and it’s a good response.”

Elsewhere, Tompkins County plans to launch an EMS rapid response pilot program in April. Program Manager Joe Milliman recently shared details on Ithaca’s Morning News.
