BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WHCU) — A Binghamton resident wants to dissolve the city’s police force.
WBNG-TV reports the ‘Police Choice Act’ would replace the Binghamton Police Department with coverage from the State Police and Broome County Sheriff’s Office. If approved by the city council, the resolution would appear on the November ballot.
Tompkins County Legislator Mike Sigler, who’s running for state Senate in the 52nd district, calls the proposal ‘terrible.’
