ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Tompkins County Legislature is preparing to vote on the 2024 budget.
Officials meet Wednesday at 5:30 PM to potentially approve the spending plan of nearly $250 million. Legislator Lee Shurtleff calls it a “good budget.”

But he says he’s sensitive to bumps in property taxes.
“I’m in an area where even the slightest increase is tough on some of my constituents,” he says.
Shurtleff represents Groton, and parts of Lansing and Dryden.
